I could end this blog with one word, “WOW”. What a fun filled evening! Let’s start with the obvious. The pulled pork meal was great and the rum drink specials were a perfect complement to the meal and a big hit. Special thanks to Mike, Analisa and all of the staff for roasting the pig, preparing all of the sides and providing great service throughout the evening. The kids had a blast splashing in the pool, digging a little treasure and don’t forget the pirate tattoos. As the night went on so did the events. The water balloon toss had some very strong competition in all ages, but there can be only one winning team. This year it was none other than your board president Jeff and Andy, with a winning toss of at least 30 yards. Big thanks to all of the other teams who participated but ended up all wet. I don’t think any of us will ever forget the cannon ball contest off the diving board. The kids division was full of nearly professional cannon ballers. After two tough rounds of competition and a jump off, it was still just too close to call so the judges declared the contest a tie. The adult division was maybe the most fun ever at a pool. After three rounds of competition we crowned a clear winner. Butch made a big splash with the judges and was the only person to receive a perfect score of 10’s in each of the 3 rounds. All Hail King Butch!
Watch for our next event coming soon, you will not want to miss it.

Big time fun playing BINGO at the club!
If you didn’t make it, you really missed out on a great night of fellowship and prizes.
New menu items were brought in so everyone could keep on eating while marking those BINGO cards.
Great to see people of all ages interacting and having a good time…who wouldn’t enjoy free games and good food at a great price!
Of course some were luckier than others, winning one of the many great prizes donated by members and local businesses.
Rick Wood took home the grand prize and will be taking some lucky person to see both a STL Cardinals game and a Springfield Cardinals game.
Watch for information coming soon about our upcoming Pirates Cove night at the pool Saturday June 3rd. You will not want to miss it!!!

March Madness night at the club scored big with members. The pop-a-shot basketball tournament was something for all ages. With brackets for children, women and men, everyone had a chance to win. Tipping the night off was great food and drink specials. Throw in drawings throughout the night for numerous prizes ranging from gift certificates to Televisions and it is nothing but net all night. For those of us not Elite enough to advance to the finals, we rounded out the night with lots of ping pong and bean bags competition. Leave it to a room full of golfer to figure out a way to handicap ping pong! In short it was a night filled with fun games, good food and great fellowship. Big thanks to the restaurant staff for the full court press on service all night long. Watch for details on the upcoming BINGO night April 21st , you will not want to miss it.

See you at the pool!
Spring is here and the roller coaster ride of temperatures has begun. This week has highs in the 70’s for a few days, but also highs in the 40’s. Most of the flowering trees have broken dormancy, but hopefully the cold snap won’t ruin all the flowers!
The maintenance department has finally joined the 21st century! Over the winter we installed a new phone line to replace the old broken one. We now have an upgraded voicemail and internet at the shop. The phone number remained the same 417-725-4642; however, we have a new email address: email@example.com. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns regarding the golf course. This upgrade will allow me to communicate with the membership much easier than before.
It has been a busy late winter on the golf course this year. The good weather has allowed us to work out on the course more than normal. We have removed multiple trees that were causing shade and root problems for the turf. Allowing more sunlight into the shaded areas will help the turf conditions improve. Some areas will need sod; however, we will wait until the Bermuda-grass greens up to determine which areas to sod. The stumps that have been left behind are scheduled for removal on April 4th. This is a rather messy process and requires good weather and solid ground to complete. Hopefully, the weather will cooperate and allow us to finish the job sooner than later!
Greens aeration is scheduled for March 28th and 29th. We will complete 9 holes each day. The opposite 9 holes will remain open for play. This is a necessary evil to keep the greens in good condition throughout the entire year. My crew and I appreciate your cooperation during this process.
I am looking forward to a great 2016 season! So far the weather has been great. Hopefully, that trend will continue though out the year.
See ya on the course!
